Canon 6D in the lineup

I have the confirmation from the same source as for the 1DX last year, Canon will announce an entry level FF this year. no spec to date.

OK, I will be awaiting the announcement (within 3 months) of an "entry level" full frame. Hopefully entry level means Rebel prices

rebel prices would be nice but do you really think they would do that? we can hope but it'll prob be more like rebel prices plus 200-400 ?

Based on rumors, I would say a 6D is going to be priced between the 7D and the 5DmkIII

I bet it will be about 2200 USA before rebates. It will be Full Frame 4.5 FPS, with the 7D autofocus system.

Then I think they will update the 7D and 60D. Making them fully "compatible" with the new flashes and adding some new small features. The 5d mark II will be then be replaced by the "6d".

I can take 4.5 FPS, 7D AF, etc. but I want it cheaper !

I might been kinda close on my earlier guess. From canon rumors

Specifications

22mp (Same sensor as 5D2)
4.5 fps
Touchscreen
Same AF system as 7D
Lower build quality than the 5D Mark III

Same af as the 7D?

really, the 5dmk2 AF goes back to 2005 which means it's a 7 year old AF.

I think you will find that when people talk about the 7D af they are talking about the focus points and a new processor behind it.

But the area covered by the 2 different systems is the exact same. The 7D just has more points inside the diamond and are all supposedly cross sensitivity unlike the 5-series. The 7D just looks wider because the 7D is a crop dSLR unlike the 35mm 5-series.

While they do cover the same area over the sensor the 7D af is better in many ways than the AF that is in the 5D/5Dmk2. Many people have commented on the fact that the 7D AF gets focus lock and holds focus lock better than the 5Dmk2.

In fact how often do you hear about the issues of the 7D AF, but just about every review of the 5Dmk2 talks about the AF isn't that good. It's ok and it works but for a camera of this caliber it should be great and it's not.

again I still don't understand why people don't like the idea of a 7D AF (which is more than suitable) in a FF. When you add the DIGIC 5+ processor then it should be more than suitable in a cheaper FF camera.

This rumor site has no credibility whatsoever, one day they will say there is no DSLR coming, next day there is 6D, 3D or whatever. They sure covered all their bases, they are just throwing things up randomly to see whichever one sticks. It's like heads they win, tails they win, but in my book, heads they lose (a bunch) and tails they lose (a bunch) too

Photorumors is repeating the 6D rumor for Photokina. Also saying that the 5DII will be discontinued at the end of this month.
