Ok, after some advice please for my new toy which I collected today.

Ignoring the extra reach of the 100-400 is that a better option to use on a 1Div than a 70-200Lf4is with a 1.4x extender on?? I have both lenses already, hence the question. I realise that a 70-200f2.8mk2 would be better with the 1.4 extender

Many thanks in advance

question came about as I was using the 70-200f4 and 1.4X combo and wasn'tthat impressed with the images shown on the Idiv. But looking on the computer the images are better than the cmaera was showing me.

still interested in feedback from my question though

I have the 100-400, and had the 70-200 f/4is. At first I was certain the 70-200 was much sharper, IS is definitely better. I think it was just a matter of the 70-200 was so much easier to shoot with till fully adjusting to the 100-400 and getting the most out of it. I have to really pixel peep, and even then I found it hard to tell the difference, and I am quite picky! Even if I still had it, I would not even consider using it over the 100-400 with an extender on it. I do regret selling the 70-200, other than size and ease of use. It was pretty redundant for my uses..a 2.8 II would be a completely different matter.
