as of today - I'm in the Club Eighty Five...

a few shots using it with a 13mm extension tube (which is also a recent acquisition and still learning that I need to expand the depth of field) ;)

Hey - what shutter speed with steady hands do you folks shoot this lens at comfortably on a still object? 1/80th? I forgot there was no IS ! been spoiled I guess...

your shutterspeed should be 85 times 1.6 when the subject is not moving. more if the subject is moving.

What i do is i switch the lens to manual focus, put it in infinity and move closer or away to/from the subject to focus.

Thanks Vinz ~ like I said - spoiled with good IS ;)

I'm sure glad to have a 1.8 stellar replacement after selling my 50 1.8 a few months ago...

One thing...In such photos I usually use +1EV in mrkIII. On +0EV I think the skin is to dark.

Thomason, are you use some extra light, or just ambient light?
