I would pick it up if the camera works. I don't know why y'all our trippin if it's stolen. If you've got strict ethics, morals, or strong religious beliefs against stealing...just don't ask if it's stolen!! It's that simple.

Let me know where you are going to set your 7D down next. I know you won't mind if I help myself. Oh, and please set it down with the 24-105 attached. I've been eyeing that lens for some time now.

Of the lenses i have listed in my sig...and the ones you listed in yours...I would think you would want the 100 macro. Too bad though, my luma cinch keeps my camera by my side.

I have no class because I wouldn't ask if it was stolen? Just because I wouldn't ask, doesn't mean I would knowingly buy a stolen item.

Found a brand new t3I on craigslist for $250. seem too cheap to be true? Body only.

Sounds like stolen goods to me. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Boy. you are the reason people become thieves - they can always find a jackass like you who is eager to profit from another guy's loss. vmad

Of course they will. See kriptikracing above. He'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Hi. I'm Mona, and this is my gear:

Canon Rebel T3i with kit lens (18-55); Canon 50mm 1.8 (Nifty Fifty, indeed!); Tamron 17-50 2.8 (non-VC); Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS.
Canon G12

I'm just starting out, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Pass on it. This may be the same guy who tried to sell it on CL in Reading, PA, a few weeks ago. No lenses, no nothing. He "left his battery charger at the shore". As stated before, someone will buy it with no questions asked. Ask for the serial number to see if it is registered with Canon.

Ask for the S/N. You can then check to see if its been reported lost/stolen on a few websites, not to mention the police.
If they won't give it (or don't respond to your request), you pretty much have your answer.

Ignorance isn't a defense .. at the very least if you're caught with it you'll have to hand it over and lose whatever you paid for it.

I'll bet if someone was selling a 1D X brand new in box for $2000 ALL of you would jump on that.

I suggest you just drop it. Thankfully there are still enough people with principles around here for you to loose that "bet".

Given the same questionable condition (possibly stolen item or just a bait to rob me)... pass. Easy decision.
