I good friend of mine recently bought a Moto Guzzi and wanted some shots of him on it. I've never really done this before other than trying to bribe my daughter into modeling which isn't easy. So, this is my first time really doing any of these shots. I'd love some feedback.

There's a large set on flickr (http://www.flickr.com …4/sets/72157631545146644/ (external link)) but here are a few for your consideration:

Like them all, in 1 that bright tar patch in front of the bike is distracting

My personal taste - I'd go a little tighter crop with the first. The rest are very nice. I'd bet your subject was happy.

+1, but landscape crop (2:1 or higher). These came out great.

I like #3. Showing him sitting on his bike kinda tells the story.

Thanks! I'll take care of that when I re-crop.

I'm super excited about how these came out. I know they are not perfect, but generally speaking - even if they were not executed technically perfect - I managed to create the image overall that I had in my head. I've been wanting to try portrait work, but I'm a little nervous about putting it out there. This definitely boosts my confidence a bit.

Thanks again for the feedback.
