I was really hoping the camera would have a Facebook app. I'd much rather have that than improved DR.

The wifi feature will allow you to connect your DSLR to your tablet. You will be able to use it to share your pics on Facebook.

I am super happy with the 5D3. It's the camera I always wanted to have, and IMHO the camera the 5D2 should have been.

That said, I would have no reservations shooting weddings with a 5D2 and the 6D. If the IQ improvements are there, then it's a nice option for folks who can't afford the higher-end cameras but still want to go FF.

As for the D600, it has 9 cross type points bunched up in the center. Still, that's better than just having 1. 1/4000 max shutter speed is puzzling to me. Again, I am assuming the IQ is going to be solid.

i know ive been gone for some time. first post in probably 6 months. just have to chime in here. im going to stir the pot a bit here and say im still making money with my *gasp* 5Dc and 1D II. dont know how I do it. really the only thing that would make me think twice about the 6D would be the 1/4000 limitation. other than that, i would love to have the low-light abilities. coming from my current line-up it is a HUGE upgrade. oh and the upper and lower points in vert (or outer points in horiz) add vertical sensitivity at f/2.8, however sensitive at -.5EV and not -3. thought i would clear that up for you all.

I'm confused by this new model.

I'm not sure what or how Canon is positioning itself in the marketplace.

There is a market for 'Shoot n Show' at events. photos just taken are shown on projector screen. built in wifi makes it cheaper than a separate module.

If it makes any sense, right below the 5D MK III. ;)

I thought some of you may be interested in what a group of very serious, professional nature photographers think about this new camera:

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I think the only EFS lens I have is the kit lens that came with one of my SLR bodys and it is broken anyways.

I don't believe your Tamron 17-50mm will work. Although you can sell it and get the Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC and you are back in business.

Ok, you guys either can't read or are basing your facts on a typo, it's a 1.04 million dot screen, not 104k.

If they had merely put the 7D's 19pt all cross type focus system in this body at the same price, They would have had a great travel camera in my opinion. I will refrain from final judgement until some real hands use the cameras in the real world, however on paper I don't see any benefit from this 11 pt system over the 9 (+6 assist) pt system of my 5D classic. Even though I don't often use my FF body for action photography, I likely WOULD if it had an AF system that worked well. So that unfortuntely for the moment looks to kill it for me.

For landscape use I would rather spend at least $600 less and get a used 5D2.

Shame because the size/weight and ISO performance on paper look great, and I wouldn't mind having built in GPS for traveling.

I guess the real pain is for the guys looking to upgrade their 5D mkII. Waiting for the 5D mkIII price to come down, this won't happen as there is now a cheaper product. The extra kick being that 5D mkII second hand/trade in prices will probably now drop sharply as who wants to buy second hand when they can have more recent technology new?

I remember all the hoohar over the specs of the 60D, in reality it turned out to be a great camera.

It's not as if there isn't a choice 5D mkIII or 6D new or 5D mkII or 5D second hand. There must be a FF camera there to fit most peoples wants, if not the there is the 1 series FFs. I guess the hardest job is fitting aspirations to ones affordable price point;)

Gear still the same. Wife drops in now and again though .

a real shame, the lens department of canon is kicking ass. But its my opinion that the camera's are really lacking. The 6d is just a 5DII with a higher price tag. The af is still crappy. The thing photographers care the most about.

Just asking, you have personally tested the af of the 6d?
