Happy to be flamed, but why is everyone comparing the 6D to the 5D2?

Specs are about the same, current prices are similar. 5Dmk2 was $2499 at launch, not $3499, so closer match for 6D.

It's probably going to be identical to the 5Dmk3, but there aren't any real-world images out there yet to know for sure.

Well, "probably better AF in low light compared to 5DII" is how I would phrase it. No-one has real-world tests in low light to confirm yet, though...

I think the 6D will be a fine FF entry-level body for new-to-FF buyers. if the 5DII was discontinued already with no good used market I would probably be thinking about a 6D.

And everyone complains because...there is pretty well no feature-set and price combo that Canon can offer without generating some kind of criticism. If the features matched (or exceeded!) the 5DIII at 5DII pricing, the recent 5DIII owners would (justifiably) have conniptions. And anything short of a 5DIII for any price more than a T4i Rebel is a sacrilegious compromise.

We exist to complain...you got something to complain about that?

;)

If you like only using the center AF point, sure. 5Dmk2 fit that bill, too, though.

Awesome the rebel of the Full Frame line.

It's a shame the 6D doesn't have the joystick/CF/non touchscreen, like the 7d/5d/1d has.

It isn't a 2012 model costing over $2000, I'd presume?

Whoa... I didn't notice it doesn't have a joystick until I saw this.

Nice catch.

I will definitely not buy one of these. 5D Mark II it is.

I shot 800 photos at an air show Saturday without having 9 cross point AF points and my pics seemed (to me!!) better than the more expensive Canon, Nikon, Pentax gear. Of course, I had the secret 100-400 weapon

coming from 60D going to MarkX, the multi directional buttons is actually what I miss the most ergonomically.

The joy stick functions are still there. They are just located on the large spin wheel. Which actually may be useful and easier to use.

You're right. but Canon still skimped on too many features at the price point they want to sell the 6D at.

Canon, again dropped the ball on the AF system. If it had the system as even the rebel. 9 cross type. or even a "high precision" center point, it would help.
