Shot some friends at a get-together (pre-party) at my place yesterday. Gonna edit the whole lot tonight/tomorrow and upload, but here's a sample straight out of camera. Shot at 1.2 with 5Dc. Flickr messed up colors a bit but I'll tune it properly when editing =). Also looks soft, not so in Aperture. Tack sharp at 100% tbh.

I like the color's on this. I would leave it just as is. Nice shot IMO.

Here's the rest! All unedited except for a liiiiittle bit of sharpening in Aperture. Color/contrast is stunning SOOC with this lens, even when shooting straight into the sun (which I did for several shots). Mind you I and everyone else was quite drunk at the time so the shots aren't exactly planned and too well thought out =).

If you're referring to mine, thank you! First time shooting with the 50L "for real" ie capturing memories. Really happy with it.

No issues with it focusing, it's just under lowlight it hunts and you may miss the chance to capture that moment.

And in my experieince it sometimes mis-focuses too - like about 6 inches in front of the subject.

Great lens optically, but can't rely on it.

You could go really cheap and get a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 lens for cheap on eBay, and then get an FD to EOS adapter....of course you'd be manual focusing :-)

Thanks- something to think about! I'll have to check it out :)
