That Leica M-E looks interesting. Basically its an M-9, but should be considerably cheaper.

So the Monochrome is the most expensive Leica now? Crazy.

Maybe they can release a new Leica S Monochrome and sell it for $50,000.

Leica seems to be the only company that makes my ideal digital camera, and yet I could never even dream of affording one. Maybe I could buy a used M9 in another decade or so, assuming I don't need any lenses. :p

Actually I gotta admit the Leica M is the first Leica I'd possibly buy..

That new R-adapter IS a cool idea, You get the best of both worlds now, Small compact high quality fast lenses and a rangefinder for discretion, but if you gotta bust out the 70-200 or the 500mm lenses, you simply snap on an electronic viewfinder and away you go...

I would argue when I bought my F-1s they were IIRC $520 or so. That was the top of the line Canon. Leica M was $1500. Leica M 9 and now the Leica M and Leica Mono are all about the same price as the top of the line Canon and Nikon so it looks like Canon and Nikon have caught up.
