Cool. I'm dying to see images from the M with 24 MPs. :)

do i get to say "i told you so" to all of the people who insisted that digital M's would never follow the 3-4 year update cycle like other high end cameras because they were built to last longer, and that leica would never include video because they focus on still frame photography? :p

we're in the digital age now, and it's only a matter of time before all of their models will include these features.

Big reason I'm really glad I'm going a Monochrome. There are some things I doubt they will do because trying to compete with the big two would be the kiss of death for them and I'm sure they know it. Live view is a good idea for landscape shooters.

The Monochrom is the only Leica I'd like to own. Too bad there's an extra ZERO in its price... :D

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

Now that Leica has revealed its cards, and with Sony's lagtest offering suggesting that it's moving in that direction, it looks like a prime opportunity for Sony to release a high-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera capable of taking interchangeable lenses. With the Leica being 24mp (and it remains to be seen how it will perform DR-wise in comparison to the Exmor) and with Sony's development cycles being considerably shorter than Leica's, a 36-to-54MP version, which would be capable of taking Leica lenses via an adaptor, would be a killer product.

Also, it remains to be seen what Hasselblad is up to, with the rumoured digital X-Pan.

Allen, if I can score a 50 Summilux there's a possibility for me to get back into the Leica camp. Leica M + 50 Summilux= WIN! :)

It's being talked about on Luminous Landscape.

It may be a 1.5x crop version of the original X-pan, though. Either way, I'm hoping for some ultra-ultra-wide options...
