Looking at the prices on Ebay, looks like the grips are going for around $20 each. I need to get grips for under the shutter, around the back wheel, and around the plug insert area so that comes out to around $60USD. If Canon would do it for cheaper, I wouldn't mind driving ~30 minutes to drop it off in Newport News. I'll give Canon a call today and see what they tell me.

Let us know what they tell you!

Well they sent me an e-mail to an online repair request form, and they wouldn't tell me how much it would cost to replace the grips. Also found out that the Newport News repair facility doesn't have a drop-off desk so you have to mail it in. Who needs new grips anyways?!

You can do it yourself following these instructions

http://www.flickr.com …iscuss/72157628803037981/ (external link)

You can buy the part(s) (all the front cover rubber hand grip items)

If you do, take photos and let us know. I think Rivest did it

Just a quick hello from across the pond in the UK. Some nice work here.

Just bought 60D after many years away from photography. Hope to be posting something once I get up to speed. Just so much to learn.

Tony

Glad you've joined us. If this is your first DSLR, hang onto your hat! Relax. Take a deep breath. And don't try to learn it all at once. Post a few samples and be ready to get some great advice from the crew here. ;)
