this lens used to sell for $650 earlier this year, refurbs are still selling for $687.

why is everyone selling them so cheap on the forums???

I sold my last week for $580 because Canon had a refurb lens sale at 20% off.

Mine is for sale for $625 shipped and paypalled - I think that's a good deal. So why wonder why something is so cheap?

Crazy, as I sold my first copy a year ago that was 5 years old with a peck on the front element for $675. I did however purchase another one from B&H this past Christmas for less the $650.

Bought mine USED for $725 which included shipping in April of 2012. (wish I knew about this place back then)

Sold it a few weeks ago for about $620 in the exact same condition it was in when I bought it - purely mint condition like new.

That stung a bit, but I needed the money, and it seemed like every day some other guy put up his for $550 or $580 with the hood...

That was by far the most difficult lens I've had to sell and I've sold about 20 throughout my career. It actually ended up selling on eBay - didn't sell here nor FM, and I was advertising it at one point at $570. Someone on eBay used "buy-it-now" at $610 with $20 shipping. With the fees, I guess I came out just above $600.

I think it's just the supply/demand. It's a popular lens, but has a very small niche.

$100 instant savings on them right now new, so the new price is $759. That makes $650 used seem a little bit much. Once the instant savings are over, $650 will be a better deal.

Depending on if the used one comes with a hood. Although not very useful on this lens, Canon hood's are expensive.

I recently sold mine for $625 I think, shipped. It's funny because before I got into photography I heard that "lenses hold their value and sometimes go up!!1" I guess that only applies to certain lenses, eh? ;)

Or how long you hold on to them...buying a 10-22mm new 4 years ago you'd probably be close to even if you sold it now
