It's OK, I hear Dizzle likes them dark anyway... :D

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

EDIT: It all depends what Canon has in store next year. If they don't intro a high MP body, I'm spending my money somewhere else. I've waited four years for Canon to make a move and they don't have what I'm looking for. :/

Understandable and reasonable, See, my frustrations before I got the 7D... I was waiting for Canon to answer the D300 more directly, the 50D didnt have enough over my 30D to warrant the upgrade, especially not in the things i wanted (Like a new AF system) There were also lenses I desperately wanted, Like a 24-135 equivalent for a crop camera, and a stabilized macro lens...

As I said, the 7D announcement was a very good thing to me.. Since it gave me the 7D, 15-85 and the 100L all in one fell swoop

My other "contemplations" for Nikon ownership more recently were in frustrations over getting a 50mm equivalent on my camera, Nikon has a 35mm f/1.8, Canon does not... But then again, what do i truly want? My Sigmalux, just you know, Not as tight... Two ways to fix this situation... Get that new Sigma 35mm f/1.4 (Or a Canon 35mm f/1.4L) or get a 6D...

I'm somewhat still considering a Canon gear liquidation and D600 purchase...

If I was you, I would wait until the reviews are out.

I am in the market for a Mark II right now but this D600 has really made me rethink my future. I jumped ship once with the D300, I love the camera but not so much on the lenses. IMO Canon has the best lens lineup, but Nikon is killing them in the camera dept. So I guess im torn between which is more important, great camera with decent lenses or mediocre featured body with great glass.

the lenses worried me too, but after trying a few (14-24, 70-200 II, 50 1.8G and 105 micro) i find them comparable to the Canon L's I had (and still have).

Shush! I still own Canon. :p

Hang on, you own Canon? Cool, and all these people have been asking andrikos to tell them what we want from a body when we could just ask you to make it happen ;).

I'll have a 40MP 5D3 with more low ISO DR than the D800. List price of $2000 please. Oh, and a new computer to process the raws :D.

In camera HDR sucks anyway

HDR is pretty much similar to the Active D Lighting that Nikon had which can be done using the camera editing software/firmware.

HDR allows you to do it in auto or control the EV. I'm not a great fan but it can be a useful tool when taking pictures of darker or shaded areas. It is totally different from photomatix but I'm not a fan of that either.

Glenn

Hehe! ;) I still own Canon gear. Although, I would love to buy a high MP body from Canon but, they don't have one. :)

Proof that I shoot both.

I'm sure I've asked this before, but remind me again where you live, and when you might be out (without the camera gear) ;)

Kenji,

you are stressing over this decision without having the facts yet. Why don't you wait until the 6D is available and thoroughly reviewed before even contemplating any move to the dark side. Don't buy anything right now. Just sit back and relax and when the final verdict is in, THEN decide which direction you want to go.

I am as disappointed as you are about the 6D specs but it's not worth losing sleep over it :-)
