I'm loving film so much now. Thinking about selling my digital camera and just shoot film for a couple months exclusively. I think it will benefit my photography greatly!

It does help. But I wouldn't sell the digital. It does come in handy and you will notice how much better you shoot with the digital camera after shooting a few rolls of film.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

Yeah I'd keep your digital gear. Try just only shooting with film for a month or two, then apply what you learn to your digital SLR and you will definitely see an improvement in quality.

Can anyone recommend some sources for lower prices on Fuji Pro 400h or Kodak Portra 400? The prices are so high now, but I want to have a brick or two on hand for the times I want to shoot color.

Haven't seen prices much better than B&H or Adorama.

For sure, and I get what you're saying, but the temptation to grab my digital cam is very great. And on top of that, my 5D is devaluating rapidly at the moment ;)

I'm no expert, but me neither.

And another shot. I LOVE this shot. Dunno why yet...

There is no source for low cost film. You pay for what is available and film will continue to shrink in availability as the price rises.

I like that camera you are using! Looks like a blast. I met a guy not too long ago who was shooting a F1 with a 24mm lens for the last 20 years chronicling every alley in S.F. Now that is impressive to me: 1 camera, film only, one rather large task and 20 years to shoot it in.

Abram, your Hexar has tempted me back into 35mm. I just picked up a Zeiss Ikon.

It was a big music festival in Dana Point, CA called Doheny Days. At the time of that photo I was watching Santigold perform.

Thanks. I'll bet a good time was had by all. ;)

I posted in another thread some photos I had taken with a DIY Receksy TLR film camera:
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1227101

I plan to go through a few more rolls of film with this toy. Even though I started with film, it's amazing to see how different I shoot digitally than I did with film.

Haha yes! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Ikon has a wonderful viewfinder.

I looked through the ecamerafilms.com site and they do have some decent price but not all of the stocks I'm looking for. However I just came across eastcoastphoto.com who had actually very decent prices on most of the Fuji stocks I wanted. (Neopan 400 being a big one, my favorite medium speed film.)

Anyone know about them? Are they reputable?
