Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Cute photos. That bridge photo is great. Wish I had access to that bridge for my little one!

QUOTED IMAGE

Got a rental one seems nice. Just too small I sell the 1Ds and get one she is getting a grip for sure.

it's super hard to get shots of kids at 1.2!!!

too bad the expression wasn't a little better. Image quality is top notch though.

I like the photo as it reminds of me of the simple period of being a child and just playing and gettin' dirty. Being an adult is a complicating thing and worlds apart unfortunately :/

Previous 5D2 owners, do you guys find the 5D3 files a bit sharper compared to the previous generation? I'm looking at this thread and it seems like pictures here are a tad bit sharper than the 5D2. Or perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I find that the 5D3 focuses so much more precisely, it is almost like all my lenses are reborn. In the past with the 5D, 5D2 and the 7D, most of the culling was for OOF and motion blur, but now with the 5D3, the AF is so consistent and the greater ISO freedom allows better shutter speeds result on average in sharper shots. I'm actually cutting back on my safety shots for OOF and motion blur, allowing myself to be more critical on exposure and composition, which simplifies the culling process a lot.

So, in this sense I'm getting sharper shots with the 5D3 than with previous bodies and can pretty much determine further sharpening of the RAW image in PP. I even find the 5D3 noise more amenable to sharpening, and often just leave the noise there as it doesn't disturb my ultimate output to web or print. I'm more interested in net output than wasting my time on dissecting. I'm finding the 5D3 to be liberating from the constrictions of previous bodies and caring less and less about the wheres and whyfors, just screw on a lens and go shoot something. :D

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words.
