This week's topic is “Make a head shot”. This is probably part of a huge part of youre pictures. If you have a person there, you also have a head shot. But this is probably the area we all can gain the most if we can improve it. Great pictures of peoples head, makes you popular. For a great inspirational input, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com …hn8C1HqCI&feature=related (external link)

To get a nice white background head shot you can do this. Go out find a great big window without direct sunlight, get someone to stand next to the window, put a big construction light to shine the background (overexpose it)... shoot. Or use a tripod and shoot youreself.

That would give you something like this:

IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/41388512@N05/7972279632/ (external link)
6800007052_d6370bb952_o (external link) by andersen_kent (external link), on Flickr

or go for the bokhe background:

do what you like, just make the persons head and its expressions the main thing. Nothing more than the head in the picture...

Rules:

*Must be shot with Canon Crop Camera
*Must be shot during the time frame (Tuesday, September 18th to Sunday September 23th- or extended as we see fit)
*Must provide Exif data
*Maximum of two pics per person
*Pics can be changed until deadline
*Submissions must be posted in this thread during the time frame
*Voting will begin the day after the time frame expires and will go on for 1 day.
*Voting is open to anybody on the forum.
*Winner will choose topic for the following week.

Tuesday, September 11th to Sunday September 16th? Now that would be a challenge!
Perhaps if I had planed 'a-head of time' :-)

Hopefully we get get a few more entries. Here is my go at the challenge, portraits are so not in my realm, I leave those up to my wife, she has a knack for portraits.

Ugh. I missed this week's, unfortunately. Great idea Kent. Challenging folks to do a photographer's "classic" job.

I guess it is time to vote now.

My vote goes to Ajaxthe2nd - I love the contrast in expressions between the boy & the cat.

Sorry i didn't get one in this week guys, i spent 4 days working on my car and when i had some time i couldn't get a willing subject. I am about to head off for a 5 day fishing trip in the mountains but should be able to pick up the internet were i am going so will check on the next theme and hopefully get one in.

This week it was a toss up between joey p and ajaxthe2nd but those eyes just kept pulling me in so my vote goes to joey p.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.
