The eyes are not in perfect focus (i.e., soft). Next time make sure you get the eye-focus spot on and it'll look great.

The image is a little bit soft because your 1/13s shutter-speed is too low, especially for taking photos of little ones that never sit perfectly still. You're a lot steadier than I am though because I'd have trouble getting a sharp picture of a brick wall at that shutter-speed. :)

This is a really sweet image. Maybe a little soft, but run it through Photoshop and sharpen with a high pass filter layer and see what you get. Before and after below.

nice work on the edit. But as mentioned, keep that shutter speed higher, minimum 1/60 depending on lens length. Bump up the iso if you need to
