The Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS would be my top choice to cover both street and landscape.

Canon 5D2 | 60D | A620 | SD850 IS | SD4000 IS
Canon 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 | 17-55 f/2.8 IS | 50 f/1.4 | 100 f/2.8L Macro IS | 70-200 f/2.8L IS II | 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS

I would go with Tokina 11-16 or Canon 10-22 for Landscape + Sigma 30mm f1.4 + 85mm f1.8 for Street. The Canon 10-22 can also be used for street in the day. Must be excellent for that actually.

Another great lens is the 15-85mm as it is wide and long without compromising image quality.

All the 17-50/55 lenses are also a good option but you already know those focals if you have the kit lens.

What is your budget?

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

Landscapes, I prefer lenses with no rotation, no extending.
Like 17_40L and 70_200F4L. It is easy to work with slide-in filters on them.
They are not so heavy, I don't need monster tripod for them.
17_40 will do the street. I use 28 3.5 Oly MF for candids. Costs times and times less compare to Sigma 30 1.4, which is nice to have.
If you want to have straight lines for city pictures - you'll need T&S wide lens.

Step up to the plate (street) or any where in the ball park (landscape).
