Ok, I'm in search of a new backpack to replace my Tamrac Expeditions 6x and 7x which I recently sold. Sold them because i just didnt like the implementation of the outside pockets and the approach to attaching a tripod. I have a thinkTANK StreetWalker Pro which I like although I found its a little hard to configure for a pro style or gripped body with an L-bracket since it assumes the camera is only so big to the left of the lens ( from a top view ) and l-bracket throughs that off by a bit by about 3/4"
So the pack I'm looking for has to be about 13 -14 inches wide to hold a lens|lens|lens arrangement across it. The streetwalker pro can only hold a lens|lens arrangement and the hard drive only holds the same with an additional 1.5 inches for thin stuff. Both the tamracs internally did the job well but externally they fell down on pocket design.
I like to arrange it with 24-70 attached to the pro style body down the middle and put a 70-200 f/2.8 on one side and 4 lenses standing up on the other. In the middle I will put another lens, camera body, or or large flash below the 24-70. Of course it has to be deep enough for a pro style gripped body with L-bracket attached. Note: The 5D family with grips are actually taller than 1D's with the integrated grip
Please let me know what you recommend .
