=NoZoomNoFun:);15051720]is there a major diff bet s100/110 and G12/15 ? what are they
they seem like similar sensor, lens etc except the Body

When the first s series, the s90, came out it was very similar to the then G11. Really as you said the main difference is the form factor, that dictated more than anything else which one you were probably looking for. There are usually slight differences in the lenses; and now with the G15 there is quite a difference in the lenses between the G15 and the s110 creating an additional important difference.

So if you want it in your pocket or small bag all the time s110... if you want to learn about photography and do a fair amount of shooting then the G15 might be the way to go.

I'm still using the s90 quite a bit it has a sort of dedicated role, my G11 sits never really got into it, but then my dSLR sits as well... but that will be changing as these little cameras are a pain in the A**. Ya I don't get all the comments everywhere of people recommending the RX100, I was going to upgrade to it when it first came out, but the price did not make any sense for me; street prices are quite a bit higher than the s series, usually more then 200 when I've checked, so while they are similar they are in different price brackets. Many people though just have 1 camera and in that case I can see that they should think if they want to stretch the budget, or if you already have SLR gear and you don't already have an s series, I can see going for the RX100 if you like the ergonomics and interface on the camera.

Seems like the typical canon upgrade, if you already have one, (s100), it's not worth the upgrade, if you are a few generations behind, maybe, if you don't have an high end p&s,
Go with the Sony rx100....

Worth the upgrade from an S95?

Why did they remove the GPS from the S100?

Just got back from Disneyworld and took the s110 I bought at Best Buy the day before I left. Didn't want to be dragging the 7d and 17-55 all over tarnation. I'm pretty impressed. First of all, the video is great. Stabilization was top notch, all the videos I shot look real smooth, especially for such a small camera. I love how it basically has all the functions and then some of my 7d. I found myself working through the different modes, playing with all the new tricks, built in ND filter!, macro, all sorts of coolness. I'm impressed with the capabilities. Just like with my 7d, I shoot in RAW. And there is the rub. i now have 190 RAW files I can't process. LR 4.2 won't touch them and ACR won't play with them. Photogene on the iPad3 would, and I got some great stills, but I'm not going to play with them all on there. The Wifi works great, install the app, and the two devices talk, send things over, etc. Pretty speedy, too. I haven't had a point and shoot for a long time, so to get one with a quick shutter and all those features has me pretty happy with the purchase. Now if I could just do some work on those photos so I could share with y'all...

You will have to update to LR4.3 and ACR 7.3.

Here are a few I've converted to .dmg and then resized/output sharpened in PS. you can definitely see some of the noise on ISO 640 and up.

Uh, I would imagine that new users are not permitted to post new threads. That's a very common policy on forums.
