Hey guys, I have the chance to swap my 5D2 for a very good condition 1D3, and really the only reservation I have is going from 21MP to 10MP. How have you guys found having that much resolution in terms of print and IQ? Any complaints? Really only limiting factor for me at this point.

I don't think you will have an issue with prints ive heard people going 60X40 with 8mp so 10 im sure you could go bigger.

You can print anything as big as you want, quality is highly subjective.

I'm 99% ready to make the switch ;) I've held and shot the 1D3 briefly in the store and its an amazing camera. Makes the already well built 5D2 feel like a toy!

For me, the 1DIII and the 5DII compliment each other very nicely. I would not be willing to give up the 5D to have the 1D though. I am thinking about selling my 7D because it never gets used since I bought the 1D. I often crop files from the 1DIII and have no problem making clean prints up to 11x14.

I would never get rid of a 5dII for a 1dIII.

No regrets with respect to resolution here. Cropping concerns me sometimes, but the results are always wonderful with the 1D3. I have been working to get tighter framing at shutter release so I don't have to do as much cropping, which I figure is a normal skill progression anyway, and will still help with any future 1D bodies I buy.

Came home with 2800 images from this shoot. Only about 150 of those missed focus. 1100 keepers (based on stroke position/background/etc). Raised about $2000 for the swim team, with 70 action shot sessions, 60 portrait sessions, and 1 freaking huge team portrait.
