Thanks all, much appreciated. Sad to say this aircraft will very shortly be on it's way overseas but it's certainly been a pleasure to view it flying.

Where is she going?

Great to see a Mosquito flying again. One of my favourite aircraft.

That is only true of the photo reconnaissance & bomber versions of the Mosquito. Fighter Mosquitos were armed with machine guns and cannons.

Thanks for the info.

Where is she going?

USA... she's owned (and well funded by the loooks of it) by Jerry Yagen - there's a good but outdated blog on the military aviation website here (external link)

I've seen some speculation that there'll be a visit to some airshows the UK before arrival in the US...

Been a long time coming. Been waiting years for one of these.

Thanks for sharing the excellent photos.

She should be coming to Virginia, USA. She'll be well taken care of and I'll visit her as often as possible.

I don't think that there's much that can compare to Merlins at full noise right above your head and in stereo.

Well done, they do have a different sound. I saw Kermit Weeks in 1988 at the Breckenridge Airsho and the late Howard Pardue was flying it along with Kermit...

My father was explaining to me yesterday how in India the ants would eat the mossies plywood structure. The solution was apparently to sit each wheel in a dish of oil.

Which came first, the invention of plywood, or the aircraft? The boom in affordable home built sailing dinghies after the war comes directly from this wartime development.

good stuff - nice to see some different shots of it too (most of the ones I've seen online from the day all look very similar!)

there's probably a direct corelation between New Zealands boatbuilding capability and Mosquito restoration ability...
