I'm in Buffalo, going to Billings tomorrow then off to Yellowstone/Grand Teton. My 18-55 lens has stopped working. It says clean the contacts but that isn't the problem.

It is the kit lense that came with my 350D & I've been thinking of replacing it, I doubt it is worth the cost of a repair. Is there anywhere I could buy a replacement in this area please.

I can't seem to find any place with a website that looks promising.

Help!!!

Check your local Craiglist, there are always folks selling those kit lenses.

Billings is the largest town in Montana. I would check for a camera shop there.

Lola,

It looks like you've been given some great options. If it's the 18-55 kit lens that you want, then yes, I would buy one locally off Craigslist if you have time. This will save you a lot of money. If you're looking to upgrade to a better lens, the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS is an amazing lens and is absolutely worth the money if it's in your price range. They too can be had locally on Craigslist or you can order it with one day shipping from Amazon and get in Montana on Monday.

You can also check the cost of the lens at a local store in Montana, but you might possibly save a significant amount of money by purchasing it off Craigslist or Amazon.

Hope this helps,
Bryan

If your going to Billings, you are several hours from Bozeman. Billings has several camera shops if you look in their yellow pages. Being from Montana I can tell you online will be way cheaper. Billings has a COSTCO and they sometimes sell individual lenses, you might try there.

Almost forgot, Billings has a Best Buy on King Street.
