Gus was supposed to be a "retriever mix" ... he's 1 year old and about 40 pounds. He's very smart, but has zero drive. He's about as active as a 10 year old hound dog... which is cute in itself I guess, right? :)

And Bella... our "Short-haired border collie" *LAUGH* Man she's fast though...

Here's our boy, Kipling.
Surrendered to a rescue from a farm where no one wanted him because he had a deformed foot. We adopted him, got his bad foot amputated, and now he is the best dog ever. :)

Here are our 2, Zoe and Grace- Grace had to have a leg amputated secondary to abuse, and Zoe was also an abuse rescue. Love them both!

Our newest foster rescue

Bernadette was filthy when we rescued her from the San Bernadino Animal Shelter along with her five puppies...

After two baths, she still needs some additonal bathing but, that will have to wait until tomorrow...

Ruy (pronounced "hoo-ee") was born under a farmhouse porch 12 years ago today. Nearly put to death in a pond, he and his litter mates all found homes thanks to a friend of a friend.

His liver is failing and I doubt he'll make it to 13 years but for today at least, he gets whatever he wants.

May the gods bless and keep him. I wish him the best in the time he has left.

Kane was a pound puppy, my sister got him at 10 weeks, then her HOA stated they weren't allowed to have any dogs under 1 year old, he was shuffled to 2 different households until he came home with me all before the age of 1. Turning 2 in December he has never been happier, and surprisingly doesn't suffer from separation anxiety. He is a "Labloodhound"

Rosie, rescued from a kill shelter in Bakersfield to our home in Santa Cruz, CA. She was considered unadoptable due to her poor socialization. . . after one week in our home with our 10yr old Australian Shepherd, she is making amazing progress!!
