Last Sunday I did a shoot with my girlfriend's younger brother @ Simon Fraser University. He's not your average 17 year old. Bruce battled cancer (liver and lungs) at a very young age with all odds against him and won. Now he's full of swag with several years experience as a hip-hop dancer. Take that, cancer!@#

I really like the vibrant colors and textures on all of them. I think you did great balancing the darkened sky with the sun and flash.

Nice work. Great balance with OCF. What was your lighting?

SFU is looking good this time of the year and Sundays are perfect up there. No one ever around!

Like 1 and 3 the best. Nice looking shots and well balanced light as someone else pointed out.

And good on him for beating the cancer...:)

Wow. More feedback than expected! Thanks for all the comments. As for the lighting used:

Image 1: 2x speedlites in a 22" Kacey BD

Image 2: natural light with a 7' silver reflector

Image 3: 2x speedlites in a 22" Kacey BD

Image 4: 2 speedlites. 1x in a 22" Kacey BD and one bare from behind on the wall as rim/separation light.

Great set.

Not to take anything away, but you can see the reflector in his shades in #2

i really like the first photo. it has a more refined or polished feel to it than the others. it might be the poses used that detracts from those in my eyes. im sure for the hip hop industry they would be just right. great job.
