FWIW I have been an early adopter of the iPhone and just replaced it with an S3. The one thing I always hated was having to go through iTunes to transfer media. I always just wanted to drag and drop. The S3 acts like a portable hard drive. I can share my music movies and files with any computer without any software. I had Lightroom and PS6 on my phone in a folder and could share it with my brother by just connecting with a generic miro-usb cable and install it from my phone. I wanted an app and the Google store said it wasn’t available in my country (USA). I went to their web site downloaded it and using an app loader I was able to install it where Apple would have blocked it without jail breaking my phone. The only thing I didn’t like was texting on the S3 and resolved that by installing the “Swift Key 3”keyboard.
Cheers…

Cheers... jim

Same. Samsung's keyboard isn't quite that good. At least, not after using Swype for so long...

I personally went with Swype Beta. :)

Going to try Swift Key 3 now. :)

I used Perfect Keyboard for long time and it responds well to my fat fingers. But i'm often hitting the del key when trying to hit m instead..

The more I read about the S3 the more I like it. I can't wait for it to show up.

I will force myself to be patient and see if that elusive Galaxy S4 is more than a rumour or not.

I am annoyed how the Samsung 3 texting app changes my words as I type. Why doesn't it use the word I'm typing 1st if it appears correct? Today I tried to write crap and it just would not accept it. Also tried isn't and it just would not let me write it. Even the pull down list of close words weren't even in the ball park.

Now the 2nd time I'm trying this just to list the combinations it's working. Anyone see this before?

The iPhone's even worse. I am sure you can change settings on the S3 to not do that.

But SwiftKey 3 still uses the same Android word guess process correct?

No, SwiftKey 3 is totally different. It will read through your emails, text messages, Twitter, Facebook, etc. to guess the words. It sounds weird, but this way it actually goes through words you actually use in everyday life. If you speak different languages, you can supposedly swap mid-sentence and it will switch from English to Spanish, or whatever. It's pretty neat.

This is true my daughter has a very unique name that I never added to a dictionary and the preemptive text guesses it with a capital letter.

Cheers...

The otterbox commuter doesn't add a whole lot of bulk and I like the feel of it.

I have a Galaxy S3 and otterbox defender. its definitely big but the phone feels protected.

Enjoy the 4 hour battery life of the Galaxy...

I use my GS3 all day (internet, email, text, youtube etc) and I unplug it at 6am and when I plug it in at night I typically have more than 40% left.

as for Apple vs Galaxy, theyre both very good. Its all in what you like.
I love apple products except the iphone. I have 5 ipods (including touches), a macbook, a new i7 macbook pro, and a mac mini. I hate the iphone.

My Galaxy S3 is awesome. It does everything that I want. But for many the iphone is the better phone. Im glad I have a massive screen. its so nice.
