I was looking at a tether table. I ran across this device and am really thinking about giving it a shot. Anyone used it yet?

The future trend for tethering is really with tablets for greater portability, so I personally wouldn't look to laptop tethering solutions when I can have something like this:

I appreciate the advice. Right now, I love the use of a good ultrabook and am excited about the number of them coming out this year with the Windows 8 push. The Win8 tablets won't be out until late this year. I also like the "Table" idea to have somewhere to put things.

I still lean to the tether tools aero master table, but it's quite $$$.

How much is it? From the look of it, it's an easy DIY project. In fact, I think I'll give it a go myself... :)

$99 If you find a good way to DIY it, please share the plans. :)

I already established a plan:

Get a large sheet of metal about the length of the tray x2. Mark the half point for bending later. On the tray half, bend the metal sheet about 1/2 inch at the end so the laptop won't slide off by accident. For the other half just cut to the shape that you see in the product image. At the pyramid shaped top end, bend the metal about 2-3 inches for hooking it up to the tripod top. Drill a hole to sink the plate to the tripod's male thread. There you have it! :D

Nice stuff. I am still on the lookout for a laptop support, but all the solutions are way too expensive for what it is. I'll probably end up with a DIY project.

Silly me. Thought a triPad surely was a 3rd generation iPad!

I got curious. Its $89 at BH and Adorama so i ordered one. For that price, I'll bite. I'll post a review later this weekend or next week. I'm doing a family portrait shoot Saturday morning and can check it out then.

ROFL. Exactly.

It's not like i bought a Fong though. :)

I found a review of it on the web and read the feedback on BHPhoto. If it works, it stops me from dropping 3 - 4 times that amount on an accessory arm, tether table, and accessories. At least thats my story... :)

But if it's attached to your tripod - when you touch the screen - it will introduce vibrations to the camera ?
