Not sure how great this deal is but Amazon has the full version (not upgrade or student) of Adobe Lightroom 4 for $99 right now.

That's how much I paid for mine. Totally worth it. It's a deal.

I believe that you would simply install it from the disc and then update to latest revision via internet. I've been looking for a Photoshop deal...not sure if I would need both Lightroom AND photoshop..

LR and Photoshop are different tools that complement one another. 90% of the image manipulation to do is done in LR. Think of Photoshop as something to make finishing touches on an image.

Photoshop can do the types of editing LR does, but LR cannot do much of what Photoshop can. However, LR allows you to edit photos and increase productivy ten-fold.

Recommendation: Get LR first, then Photoshop later.

I got it on Newegg sale, but I often see the student edition on Amazon for $3X.XX

Amazon, Newegg, B&H, Adorama all have deals from time to time where it goes on sale. Right now there are no deals but signup for Newsletters if you want to be alerted quickly when a deal pops up. Sometimes they get posted here but often not so it's worth wading through the extra ham in your mail.

as an alternative, you could also download the latest version from adobe as a trial and then input the serial you get with your retail packaged version...works either way. ;)

If you can read this, you don't need a macro | 7D + 5DIII + Waaaay too much spent....

Thanks for the heads up. Thinking of ordering. But wondering if I should pay the extra $30 and get the "free" Kelby training dvd.

Thanks for the heads up. Of note: CA residents don't have to pay tax on the digital download edition.
