Most dealers are being bastards about test drives w/ this car. They think because it's an 'ST' that they can charge thousands over MSRP and that people will be throwing money at them for these cars.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic car and is crushing the hot hatch competition, but at the end of the day, it's still a $20k-something 4 door FWD hatchback.

That said, go test drive one, they're awesome.

A bit of info:

2002 Subaru V7 WRX STI Type RA Spec C (1 of 300 made for rally homologation), Hand built forged engine with VF34, Bigger injectors, stand alone ECU, RA DCCD 6 speed (with spec C specific 20/80 - 50/50 split), Oil cooler, Deleted ABS/Brembo (comes with Subaru 4 pots), deleted airbags, deleted body kit (except rear wing), deleted front subframe, Quick rack 13:1 steering, lighter A/C pump, Alloy Bonnet and front guards, deleted boot trim, 12L Intercooler tank in boot), Roof vent, wind up windows, thin glass, deleted rear wiper, deleted seat bottom pans, deleted HID, no underseal, thin paint (less coats), deleted boot release, thin skin boot lid.
Factory 235kW/1290kg - 0-100kph/ 4.5sec

Brought it in 2005 with just 58,000 km's on the clock. Was managing a performance shop, so fitted Cusco brake booster brace, 4 point front under brace, front strut tower brace (Spec c's dont come with one), rear strut brace, rear trunk brace, Buddyclub fully adjustable coilovers, Profec B Boost controller (peak 1.75Bar), V10 STI SPEC C RA-R muffler, Volk CE28N rims (light weight)...

It also came with a Japan installed Cusco mechanical rear diff, Defi gauges and controller...

Yep, was a NICE car...;)

...sad to see it go...:(
