First time poster, has taken me a while to work up the guts to post but I finally feel like I'm getting a little better! A friend asked me to take some shots of her daughter's game this past Friday night. The sun had gone down and the fields are not lit here so there wasn't a ton of light to work with. As far as game action goes, these kids are little and playing scrum soccer so I got what I could while focusing mainly on just one player.

I've lurked a long time, read a bunch and learned a lot. I'm not new to photography, just new to really trying to get much better at it.

C&C welcome and thanks for looking.

These are really good. You did a good job capturing the action and expressions of the girls.

The second to last one is the winner. Great body shapes on that one.

Agreed on the 2nd to last one. I also like the goal cheer shot for the emotion. Good job shooting down low -- it always cracks me up to see a parent out there with a nice kit sitting atop a 5'6" monopod trying to shoot 3' tall kids.

Second to the last one is the best. These all seem rather underexposed though. You may want to try bumping up the exposure and warm up the color balance as well.

Thanks for the comments. On exposure, I agree they seem underexposed but that's not what I'm seeing in the histograms, another subject I am working to improve on. Game time was 6pm and it went until 7:30 so there was not a lot of light at all. I changed the color balance, most were around 4500 out of the camera, I bumped them up around 6k, they look better, I did not touch the exposure.

I always try to shoot kids and pets from a low position, even with older kids, looks better. On larger fields with a crown though I lose the ball and sometimes up to the knee if it's a bad crown.

Here are a few of the re-edited shots, PP suggestions appreciated!

Crop the deadspace out if possible, most of it adds nothing to the shot.
