I'm glad my 60D isn't giving me any issues...... *knocks on wood*

The G12 that seemed all perfect compared to the first G12 is not so perfect.

Thankfully the still images are perfect, but there's two bad pixels when recording video. They only show up in videos, which just blows my mind. & yes, they are very visible in all videos. Very distracting.

Also, this one may be a victim of the lens getting scratched by the lens mechanism. I see a curved marking on the top & bottom portions of the lens.

So, IDK if I should take it back to Best Buy for another, or send it in to Canon.

I didn't know there was a G12 lottery.

EDIT:

Wow, the pixels are showing up in still images (I was looking through images as I wrote this). Come on mannnnnnnnnn!

So let's say you are a very amateur photographer like me and you want a flash for taking pictures of toy tractors I have built and for some light automotive photography for evening out contrast. You have a manual flash but feel it's kind of a pain in the butt so you want an ETTL flash. The 468II looks great for the price but it doesn't have HSS. Since I really don't know the applications of HSS should I be concerned about it not having HSS or is it not the big deal this entire forum is making it out to be? I guess what I'm saying is, why do I need HSS?

Isn't HSS only for shutter speeds past 1/250?

Yes HSS is for faster then 1/250. If you are shooting in bright sunlight you will need it.

Don't think I posted this one here. I need to figure out a different ballhead for pano. I'm trying to keep everything as light as possible for my trail run/hikes, any suggestions?

Kev that looks amazing, possibly look into getting a pistol type grip ballhead for panos?

I'm tryin to figure out what to spend $80 on eBay ...my cash back expires Nov. 2, and I can't seem to find anything but anime and silica gel packs. LOL

Well, I am jumping ship from the 60D to a 5D mark II. Getting a deal too good to pass up from work. I will miss it! Only had since February but it treated me well.

Thanks I lucked out with an awesome sky. I have a pistol grip, but it's really heavy. I think something with a level and marks to keep things on the same level is what I need. Photoshop does a great job aligning the images but I'm loosing a lot of my image from them not being lined up well.

HSS relates to higher shutter speed as mentioned and its a good feature for diminishing ambient light, for drama for example, or a bright sunny day as mentioned, when using your flash for fill. HSS is not a deal breaker but eventually you will likely want a flash that has it

Put your shutter to 250 (luckily the 60D goes that high, vs many that just have 200 or 180 like the new 6D) or restrict your ambient in some other way if possible.

I'm pretty sure the 468EX has an Optical Slave feature where your pop-up pre-flash would trigger the TTL of the 468EX... get a 2nd opinion on that though...
