Am I the only one hates the white colored lenses?

Personally, I would pay extra to get the long tele lenses with black color.

you do pay extra when you pay for a Nikon lens.

I like the white

I really liked the old 80-200L, it was beautiful in black.

Feel free to send me your 300L so you can replace it with a 300 2.8 Sigma.

White lenses deflect the suns rays much more effectively, so living in a hot country it is actually a bonus.

Plus you can hide in the snow better and capture Polar Bears playing .....

the problem i have is that all my current lenses are black, so if i suddenly appear with a white lens my wife knows I've spent money on new equipment. She doesn't seem to notice the odd addition to my collection if is black. I have to borrow or rent white lenses.

They can keep on waiting for a very long time. I won't be coming over soon....
(Personally, I think these so called "coats" are uglier than the white color).

I don't mind the super tele being white as they are being used mostly in nature. (though would love to have the in Black).
But having the 70-200 white attract unwanted attention while shooting in public.


And for those saying there is a purpose for the white color, we all know it.
But I think that if Nikon can do it black, so can Canon.

It is simply a brilliant marketing ploy by Canon. Anybody who knows anything about cameras and sees on his TV all those white lenses at any ball game or other event knows exactly what brand the cameras are.

I dislike the white and love the black. With white tele lenses you won't be let in to many sports events. When I take my 300mm f4 to a football game, I always disguise it as black so I can gain access. The one lens you will ALWAYS get in with is the 200mm 2.8 L (black). Good luck getting in with a white 70-200mm 2.8.

who cares what color the lenses are. worrying about something as insignificant as that is pointless when it doesnt have any effect on the image. its just a coat of paint. if you hate it that much with how much money you have put into glass then you can easily buy a lens cover or paint them black.

if anything if i was a working professional i would want people i know i have the best quality glass so that people would assume my image will be better than that other guy that has less white lenses. its all marketing so get over it and shoot lol
