I'd prefer the lens paint to match the camera paint but all that really matters is the quality of the photos in the end.

If there was a 3rd option to the poll, I'd click "indifferent"

I heart it.

I rented a a 70-200 and took it out to South Beach for walking around. A bit challenging with the 70mm minimum but do-able.

Lots of comments, sometimes even a conversation starter lol.

You, my friend, need a full frame camera ! :D

That 70 will be quite usable with a 5D III...

Personally, I would pay extra to get the long tele lenses with black color.

how about you guys?

Last time I looked, my Sigma 50-500 is black.. But feel free to send me your white lenses- I'll spray paint them black for you- send you a bill for say $500, and send you your lens back when the bill is paid...

the problem i have is that all my current lenses are black, so if i suddenly appear with a white lens my wife knows I've spent money on new equipment. She doesn't seem to notice the odd addition to my collection if is black. I have to borrow or rent white lenses.

My R/C Helicopters used to be yellow and black (mainly yellow- but both colors )- for the exact same reason..
All of my lenses were black- till I got the Canon 70-200... Yep- she noticed right away..

There is credence to this, ummm, way of thinking...

You're not the only one who hates white color lens. It's plain ugly!

Then look at THIS (external link)--several commercial versions are available.

I quit giving a $hi! decades ago about what others thought--and had the hood of my 300 flamed just to stand out from the masses. ;)

Ah, cool link. Nice one :)

I am still using non-L lenses and hope to improve things soon. Given a choice I would pick black as it looks a little less noticeable due being more common than white lenses.

White lenses deflect the suns rays much more effectively, so living in a hot country it is actually a bonus.

+1bw!
