Definitely a wonderful lens as evidenced by the nice shots on this page! I do really like Patras' shot! :) I'm going to hold off buying the 2/100mm till the 2/135mm ZE starts shipping.

Patras,
How would you define the difference in bokeh between the and 135mm from canon. I see you own both? Is it wise to buy the 135mm when I own 100ze?

Regards,

Regards,

Hi.

I always liked the 135L but if I have to choose one of them I would choose the 100ZE, not only for the bokeh. Answering your question, if I have to compare the bokeh, probable I would prefer Zeiss'. Maybe it is more natural although I hadn't the time already to compare them because I have the 135L since 2-3 weeks ago and my 100ZE suffered an accident so I picked it up last week from the technical service.

I bought the 135L when I upgraded the 5D2 over the 5D3 because I wanted to have AF. Being honest, sometimes I wonder myself if I should sell the 135L or not because the 100ZE fulfill all my expectations and maybe I could buy a different kind of lens but I think they are truly compatible.

Soooo I guess it depends on your budget. If you don't have another lens in mind I think they are compatible because you can do different things with one and the other. Or you can save money in order to buy the Zeiss 2/135 when it will be available :)

Cheers

My very first question on this forum was whether I should sell my 135L to fund the 100ZE. Several people suggested that I keep the 135L and continue to save up for the 100ZE. I am glad I listened to those people. I had to wait longer for my 100ZE, but by waiting I now have two lenses that I love.

My 135L doesn't get used as much as the 100ZE. I pull it out for specific things. It is sharp and it is fast. It has the fastest AF of all the lenses I own. They both have beautiful bokeh, but I would give the upper hand to the ZE. If I had to choose one, I would pick the ZE. But I am glad I have both. I guess I am of the opinion that you can't have too many lenses (unless you can't carry lift your gear bag anymore).

I want lenses more than diamonds.
