Guys, I just sold my Canon 28-135 on ebay. The buyer has 0 feedback (well, he actually has 1 feedback, from a seller that sold him a camera 2 days ago).
He paid me straight up, payment is cleared. Address is confirmed by paypal (but it says "the sender of this payment is not verified).
I feel a little nervous about this but am I ok to go ahead and ship it to him?

thanks!

Make sure you get insurance and ship with signature required.

If the PayPal transaction status says "Okay to ship", then you need to ship. Get whatever DC/signature confirmation and insurance is appropriate for the amount you were paid.

I have heard that scam buyers can say they got a shipment but lens was broken or it was diapers etc

Same here 7 years not verified, 100% ebay feedback (external link).

I don't have a regular bank account(don't have need for it) and paypal wouldn't let me verify it using my credit card. Only other option to get verified is getting one of their master cards. Which I don't want.

New users have to start somewhere right? They paid for it, payment cleared and address is confirmed by PayPal. So as long you ship to that confirmed address with tracking/signature, you're covered.

Other sellers probably thought the same thing when you started with 0 and you bought from them or you had 0 feedback and selling stuff.

Take a picture of your packing if you are careful. I doubt it is a fraud with the home address on the line.

It is a federal offense, if someone that stupid tries to fraud the way you describe.

i had a very similar situation. i asked the buyer to send me a copy of a bill (cable, phone, etc) with their name and address, and to black everything else out. once i had that, i shipped with delivery confo, and even then, i still think it was a scam because the buyer tried to tell me they hadnt received it, even though tracking showed attempted delivery twice and that it was waiting in the USPS office. maybe it backfired, lol

good luck!

I probably not going to verify my address with a random EBay seller.

guys thanks for all your help.
I guess the majority of you on this board say ship it.
Majority opinion outside this board would be to investigate further.

I got an email back from the buyer this morning.
The email was:

Hi
This is my address :
---address---
---address---
thanks

extremely short.
The email address, the name on the email account, and the name on the paypal address are all different.

In the end, I guess I will bite the bullet and ship it.

Again, his mailing address is CONFIRMED. This means its been verified by PayPal. If it said, UNCONFIRMED, I would hesitate. Considering he paid, you're obligated to ship. You don't ship, don't be surprised if you get a negative feedback or low marks.

So as long you ship to the confirmed address with tracking/signature, you're protected under PayPal
