Late is better than never on the f/8 functionality. Good to also hear they're listening to users on the AF point illumination

Well that's the final straw....Now to figure out whether to deal with PMI Digital (never dealt with them before) to save $350 or just go my normal B&H route where I KNOW there won't be any hassle.

Not a bad update.

The flashing red might annoy me enough to turn it off, but the F8 fix is nice.

They fixed my err 70 issue but failed to fix the multi-card delete problem.

Ahh, well. Maybe next time. :)

Under pitch black shooting environment such as a night theater with absolutely black background and no visible border as a point of reference I think the flashing light might prove useful but I understand this could be annoying to some people but I can learn to live with it...This is of cause just my assumption because I will only get my 1dx around end of this year :(

I find it a little annoying in the dark, these settings help for sure and make it almost not noticeable in normal light, of course it only happens once in one shot mode :)

Menu > AF5 > AF Status in viewfinder > Show outside of frame
I do this because the blinking “AF” graphic in the viewfinder is quite distracting
Menu > AF5 > VF Display illumination > Enable: On > Q > Illuminated: Normal
I found the “Brighter” setting to be a bit distracting this AM while shooting some avian creatures. I will probably add this setting to “My Menu”, just in case there’s a situation where the brighter point is needed.

Can help

I agree the amount of detail, but most of all it is the recovering of data in shadows and highlights that impresses me the most

Use the previous OS-X version on Canon's drop-down, works fine just as it worked in the previous firmware fix.

PMI Digital is an authorised Canon USA dealer, so I don't really see an issue.

they are on page 16
