The only critique I would make is that you posted these rare Nikon items on a board mainly babitated by Canon enthusiasts. I haven't looked to see if you posted them on FM as well but that would be the best shot for moving them.

Yeah.... Lame, I know, but I'm not a member of FM, and I'd feel even lamer listing them there as my first post.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?
Digital - 50D, 20D IR Conv, 9 Lenses from 8mm to 300mm
Analog - Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD, Canon A-1, Nikon F4S, YashicaMat 124G, Rollei 35S, QL17 GIII, Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1st Version, and and entire room full of lenses and other stuff

I decided to try this as if I only had my cell phone and computer (tablet actually) remaining. While not studio quality (and probably over-cropped), I think it's safe to say there's really no excuse for blurrycam photos when selling your stuff.

I Buy and Sell here a lot along with FM. It never ceases to amaze me how little attempt people make to photograph their gear for sale! Aren't you supposed to be photographers?

I agree. When I sell, I try to take half decent photos of the equipment for sale. I use a broad enough depth of field so as much of it is in focus as possible. I want buyers to see the true condition of the item. I don't shoot things at f/1.2 and pretend I am taking a portrait.

In addition to taking pictures of the item, I also take photos of the item being boxed up, printed out reciepts off USPS.com or pictures of reciepts from the Post Office, all to reassure the buyer that I not only shipped it, but shipped it securely. I've sold everything here from a EF 400mm f/2.8 IS L USM to a 58mm UV filter. I feel that if a buyer has just spent $8,000 or $15 with someone who is basically a total stranger, it's part of my duty as an honest seller to let them know.

I think after being on here for four years you can drop the paper with your POTN screen name written on it.

I would say that stops unscrupulous sellers from using that pic in their own ad.

I agree. I started watermarking my for sale pics for just that reason.

It is kinda difficult to take an image of what you are selling if its the only camera ya got. IMO most secondary cameras are not as good as what being offered for sale.

Canon 60D,18-55mm,55-250mm,50mm compact macro, AF ext tubes. Sigma 8-16mm uwa, 18-250mm, 85mm F1.4, 150-500mm

Give even the crappiest camera what it needs....light...and you'll have a better salable image than most lazy people put up.
