Just to give an update.

I installed the SSD in the place of the optical drive. Did a clean Mountain Lion install and migrated the apps. Deleted the apps from the HDD after a week testing the SSD.

Also did the RAM upgrade to 8gb.

Loading if apps is super quick and the responsiveness of the system is great. Been able to work on 7d files with no time lag. Tried a 6 RAW file pano and the system took around a minute or so. All in all, very happy with the new setup.

The SSD should be in place of the HDD not the optical drive! The HDD should be where the optical drive is, have a read around.
