Damn that's expensive, I could understand for the FD superteles and even the 50mm f/1.2 but why not just get a 50mm f/1.4 that can be more easily adapted? I imagine for the total cost of that you could've got something like Pentax's 50mm f/1.2 or even the EF 50mm f/1.4.

Because I already had the FDn 50mm 1.4 and I would never sell it.

The FD to EF adapter is about the price of a Pentax SMC 50mm 1.4 and adapter so for me it's a wash.

The aperture pin and the rest of the regular aperture mechanism is removed, and there is a new piece(EdLInk) added to make a direct connection to the aperture ring on the lens.
