Thank you Jen, I will enjoy it. I have officially launched my business, complete with tax id and all that jazz. I exceeded the amount you are allowed to make, before you need one, and so as not to get in any trouble, I went ahead and started up Posh Penny. My website is finally finished, that was something I took on by myself, and it was a process, let me tell ya, ugh...I will NOT be adding web design to my list of can do's anytime soon. Blahhhhhhhh!! www.poshpennyphotography.com (external link) ONLY took me about 2 months, to get it to where I wanted it, lol.

But from where I was a few months ago, to where I am now, I am really pleased with my progress. The books I got really helped me. Getting feedback from you guys is a real blessing, and I really appreciate it.

Ok, so, Ive been looking t all the great photos of kids, cats, etc, and just have one question:

How do you guys manage to get the eyes to look like they are on fire?

It's a matter of dodging the catch lights in the eyes. The ONLY time I don't reccomend dodging catch lights is when it's from a flash, or strobes. I usually dodge around them. I use elements 10, cs4 and Lightroom 3. But for this picture I used only elements. I used natural lighting so the catch lights were great, I zoomed in, dodged them at about 15% and then burned the dark ring around the eyes at 10% ( midtones only) I can hunt down some tutorials for you if you would like. I can make a action and send it you if want. Do you have elements or PS?

Southerly coming up - I was a bit late to catch it, as it was already beginning to rain and I had no protection for the camera. But anyway - took some shots as you can imagine!

You can do quite a lot with the adjustment brush in LR.
