OSD has the 600 EX RT for £363.99, which seems like a damn good price against UK retailers.

They don't however sell a 580 EX II, and it seems to retail in UK around the same price as OSD sell the 600 EX RT.

So if I am to make any saving, I'd having to look at second hand.

Has anyone got any input, should I get a cheaper second hand 580 EX II if I can find one or 600 EX RT?

I like to 'buy once' where possible, which is why I have ruled out the 430 EX II - even though I'm just starting out with flashes!

As in the title the body is a 5dm2, if that makes a difference to the choice of flash. Lens 35mm 1.4 Distagon and 85L 1.2 II

I have a couple of 580 EX II and recently got a 600 EX-RT, not exactly because I needed it, but more to evaluate if it was any good.

It's definitely an improvement over the 580 EX II, in handling. Not in performance, they are equal there. The big benefit of the 600 EX-RT you'll get as soon as you have more than one of them, of course.

I sold four of my 580's and purchased four 600 and I also shoot 5D MK two and I think it was a worthwhile upgrade. The radio works excellent and as advertised from Canon
