I am not worried about the resell value, since I would never part with mine.

That's how I felt... until I got a 1D :P

+1 - I'll never part with mine either. I also have no desire to go full frame, because if my husband gets the 5d III, I'll have access to it:D

Well, 1D is still a crop until the current one... just not EF-S. Good luck with your (husband's) anticipated 5D3 :)

Well, my husband said that because we just bought a new car, he's not going to get the 5d III, but I'll keep pushin' him!!

I took your guy's advice and listed it for $700, sold it in 4 days. Now I"m putting that money toward the 100mm L Macro lens, can't wait!

Interesting b/c you never even responded to my PM about purchasing it and I would have paid more than that. I think I figured out why you couldn't sell it.

Glad you sold it though!

Sorry man, I just would prefer selling anything local, I've never really sold anything to someone who lives in the states and figured it would be a hassle :)

Used items aren't worth what the seller thinks they are worth. They are worth what the buyers are willing to pay.

Being someone who is in the market for this lens I will give you my take.

It is not a priority. It is not a range I shoot much with and I already have a capable lens in that range. Probably true for many people.

It has to be a good deal. Canon quite often runs this around the $800 mark. Comes with a warranty. Price point has to be $700 or less to get me to buy used.

Even though it is a great lens, it is an EF-S. The perceived value is going to be less. I've tried out the lens and know it is top shelf. Problem is I can only use it on my crop body. If I decided to drop using a crop the lens has to go as well. My other lenses work on any body.

So, bottom line. It is a great lens, just not a good investment.
