Hi guys, I'm planning to get a Pelican 1400 (with form). Do you think the following items can fit into the case?

- Canon 5D Mark III
- EF 50 f/1.2L
- EF 24-105 f/4L
- Speedlite 580EX II

Thank you.

I used to carry an XSi, 18-55 lens, 70-300 lens, and 430EX II flash in a Pelican 1400 with the foam. Watch out for the height of the 5D body in that case, it might be tight. I occasionally use a 1400 without foam for my 60D with 17-55 f/2.8 in a think tank digital holster 10 and my 70-200 f/4 in a think tank whip it out case. There is no room to spare, but it fits.

Hi BroncoAZ, thank you. Or should I get the 1450 (just in case 1400 don't fit)?

The specs on the 5D Mark III show that it is 4.6 inches high. The internal dimensions of the Pelican 1400 case are listed as 5.16 inches high. I would not be comfortable with 1/4" of foam on top and bottom of the camera, it would fit but it seems like you'd be squishing it in there. My 60D is listed at 4.17 inches high, so it has about 1/2" of padding top and bottom in the 1400 case. The 1450 case is 6 inches deep, I would recommend that with the padded dividers. It isn't that much larger than the 1400 and has room for expansion. The 1400 case is easier to carry, but not good if your gear is smashed inside.

Make sure to include tolerances for any tripod plates you may have on your camera when calculating height requirements.

Hi BroncoAZ, thank you for the information and recommendation. I'll check out 1450 with padded dividers.
