Haven't really posted any pictures recently, so here goes. be kind - I haven't been really trying to get any better but this was an incredibly memorable day
My son, Ashton, as most of you know is autistic. Well, he has a tendency to not brag on himself or really, be proud of his accomplishments. I wanted to make him feel special and have a special moment AT SCHOOL, with his friends and teachers so that it gives him a bit of a boost, whether he realizes it or not. So, I arranged, along with his teacher and a couple of other people, to have Ashton's Team Hoyt VB runner visit him at school.
What makes this so incredible is Ashton's runner is a 16-year-old kid. A WONDERFUL kid, and one who we kind of think of like our 3rd son. He's really enriched the life of Ashton, as well as become an incredible role model for our younger son, Holden.
Anyways - Marc and I got to Ashton's classroom while they were still out at lunch. We were just sitting there and when Ashton came into the classroom, Marc stood up and said SURPRISE and Ashton just kind of looked at him and gave a very quiet, awe-struck look and gave him hugs and double high 5s. So cute.
So a special treat Marc and I had planned for Ashton, was for Marc to bring the stroller with him that he uses to push Ashton in the races. We took the kids outside and let them each experience what Ashton gets to experience during a race, while Marc pushed them each of them a very short distance. Some of the smiles were precious!!! You'll see Marc's smile was biggest when pushing Ashton, hehehe
This is Marc, and my son Ashton Best buddies!!
