I think my sigma 50mm has heavy focus issues with the T1i... but it seems normal when I try with the 5Dmkii... no issues at all... can i still send it into sigma for calibration even if warranty ran out?

I would say yes, but they'll likely charge you for it. But I would worry about messing with a lens that was performing really well on what I'm guessing is your main body.

The 5Dii has micro-adjustment though (which would remember the setting for the lens) - so not a problem unless it was miles out.

Just got this lens yesterday. I was freaking out last night because I was only getting what seemed like decent results with a MA of +20 on both my 5D3 and 1D3. Today I ran the lens through five rounds of FoCal on each camera body and the results were bang on (3x +13 and 2x +12 on the 5D3 | 1x +13 and 4x +10 on the 1D3).

So, this is one of the post-calibration test pics I took in my back yard. Sharpening in LR4 deliberately taken down to 0 and no other adjustments). I still might send this in for calibration with my 1D3 but so far I think it's an amazing lens. The bokeh is ridiculous!!! It also doesn't hurt that I got a phenomenal deal from my local camera shop.

5D3 at ISO 100, 50mm, f1.4, 1/3200s, SOOC:

And here's two more using the 1D3. SOOC also with sharpening taken to 0.

First: 1D3, ISO 100, 50mm, f1.4, 1/8000s, SOOC
Second: 1D3, ISO 100, 50mm, f1.4, 1/2000s, SOOC

They got mine back and they're going to try it out before sending the new one to me. Better this way than getting another dud. Can't wait to play around with it!
