Very cool shot.

it really is.

your first shots with the 7d made me think twice about posting my 7,000th. particularly dig #3, but i'm partial to squirrels.

Were those with the 70-300 L? That lens is on my "do want" list. Gonna shoot for the 15-85mm next, then the 70-300 L early next year!

Yeah, the 70-300L was used. It rarely comes off my camera.

I'd say you're off to a great start. Excellent post processing as well :)

Thanks & thanks! I've been undecided which picture style to use . For this day I used Neutral but I found myself upping the color saturation and contrast in LR. Is this the way to go or should I use a different style as a general rule?

LOL...thanks for the compliment. That squirrel was actually on the edge of a cliff and as I walked by the colors of the water, ice plant and its coat really caught my attention. I usually wouldn't take a pic of a squirrel but I couldn't pass it up.

Hold on Bob, when did you upgrade to the 7D? Just a day ago you were with us in the T3i forum and you have relocated uptown! :)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

What's going on with the colors in the trees? Is that effect intentional?

Hey, what are you doing here???? I've been outed LOL. Actually, I was without a camera for two weeks until my T3i got sold on ebay. Just got my 7D on Wednesday. I have a years worth of T3i shots I'm technically still allowed to post ;). So how do the 7D shots compare to the T3i ones I posted over there? I think I'm going to be very happy with my new baby. I think it's going to take some time to find it's sweet spots though.

Loved the shots of the seals and the egrets! Fantastic quality as usual...I'm jealous. I think I'm going to get some good glass first before I upgrade the body. I was reasonably sure what I wanted to do until I wandered on to FM and saw some of the shadow recovery of the D600 and I really felt the power of the dark side LOL.... So I'm back in research mode now.

Thanks. I'm a total proponent of getting good glass first. I bought my first L lens 4 months after getting the T3i. Seriously my most used lens.
