Honestly the majority of cine lenses are extremely overpriced, **** most don't have any electronics inside. My guess would be it's mostly down to smaller production and they know big studios and rental shops will pay it.

Er.. If we need it we'd buy it, simple as that I believe.

We wanted to try out the C300 and Canon lent it to us, and also gave us the lens to use.

The lens is a dream to use, though heavy, and I love the fact that the aperture blades don't click into position.

Love that lens

I am so happy I was able to put this together to revive my first camera.

It is my current wallpaper.

I used to have all the bells and whistles for AE-1s, until I sold most of it to fund a 1D Mark II a couple of years ago. Still have my all-black AE-1P that I'll never part with

Thanks! You read my mind. I'm on the lookout for a 1.4 actually.

I bought the body, dateback and motor drive separately on ebay. Finding a black body in good nick was a real challenge.

We had the lens at home (from a friend). Everything works but I haven't run a film through it. I am using this as a display - so I'm not worried about it anyway. As you imagine 1.4 will complete it.

And that motordive sounds awesome!
