I still have case of Pixel King:)
QUOTED IMAGE

I too would love a case to hold 6 units (2 Pixel King cases with the labels snipped off - except I only have one spare ;)). Anyone come across anything not too big (ie not one of my myriad camera bags no longer in use - they're all way too big). I know PW make something, but by the time it got to the UK, it'd be about US$55 and that's the cost of another single YN-622C.

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

My wife gives me the little bags that the airlines pass out on international flights. At the moment, one is holding a bunch of spare enloop batteries, another is holding my cyber syncs, and come to think of it there are a few more on the shelf. I'll have to get them into service.

Thanks for the memory jog. :-)

I use this case. It can hold two triggers, the stands and a small cable or two. I bought them originally for carrying 2.5" portable hard drives. Probably not as compact as a case that was specifically made for these triggers, but it works well.

Right now I use the Pixel King bag as a separate small compartment in my gear backpack. The PK bag holds my 60D battery charger, spare battery and an emergency set of 4AA.
I have 4 622Cs that fit nicely inside a Sigma 30mm/f1.4 case. lol

I wrote up a bit of a review of the YN-465 as a budget slave flash option for the YN-622C. Its not perfect but for around $60 shipped its hard to complain considering what it can do -

I don't have a lot of experience with the cheaper YN flashes so if I've got anything wrong, or you know of any compatibility issues please let me know.

Otherwise there is a YN560EX slave flash for use with the Canon optic wirelss system, but nothing similar for the YN-622C.

Whats needed is ideally a YN-560-SLV, an updated version of the manual YN-560 but with added ETTL and Remote Manual compatibility when used as a Slave with the YN-622C receiver. Preferably - Full power, Battery Port, Zoom Head, in about that order of priority, under the $100 mark.

I don't mind the black screen but if you wanted the LCD look I think they could make a nice grey panel to look just like an LCD but actually using the YN-560 LED lights instead -

If you would like to see a basic (but full power) sub $100 YN-622C slave flash like this, could you please leave a comment on the blog here and I will forward this to YongNuo to see what they can do -

Ok great thanks for that, I've added the 60D to the list.

I'm not really sure what the compatiblilty pattern is then though.

YN-465 is selective compatibility, but it is compatible with the 60D and has control of the menu.

I currently have been using the RF602 manual triggers with two Canon 540ez flashes with great results using this setup in full manual mode. I would have loved to go the full ETTL route, but 2+ years ago the options were limited and I was not willing to spend 1000+ on a Pocket Wizard + flash setup.

So now the 622 transceivers have come out and I'm salivating. However, I only have a 420EX flash and two Canon 540ez's. The 420ex will work (correct me if I'm wrong) but will only work in ETTL mode with no manual control, fine, no worries there. I am not to sure how the 540EZ's will work with the 622 transceivers though.

Has anyone tested the 540ez's with the 622 transceivers? Will they just be full manual like with the RF602's or will I be able to have full control of the settings on the 540ez's through my 50d's flash menu?

The 540ez flashes don't have HSS, which is something I'd really like to play with for action sports shots and the 420ex wouldn't cut it in that department. As a result, I may have to upgrade on the cheap, but not too sure which direction to go for that.

I do have a few 540ez, but haven't tested them with the yn622s.

I have tried a few 430ez on them though, which are same era flashes as the 540ez, but the only thing they give is auto zoom! Otherwise manual doesn't change a thing and ttl just gives a full dump.

430EZ and 540EZ only knows A-TTL, they're compatible with older film bodies, not with the modern E-TTL systems.

For those who have ordered from Photogadget... were you ever able to track your shipment from the time it arrived in the US? It has been a couple weeks and I have not seen any change in the status of the shipment. It appears that it is still waiting to get picked up.

I shot some stuff at a halloween party where there was a haunted house where tours were given to scare the bajeebees out of the patrons and my roll was to capture it. Very difficult to get focus in pitch black and then freeze the terror with a flash. That focus assist would have been really nice.

Yeah, I know, I think I have most of the various generations of canon flashes going back to the 300tl for my (OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!!) T90. I was answering the direct question in the post above mine.
