Nice Ron. What was your setup for this? Looks like two lights?

Thanks, Bob. Yep, two lights. Good reverse engineering!;)

One 24x36 softbox camera left, main light. One 24x36 camera right fill and for backdrop. Both with Metz 58-af (580 clone). Both were at full power but I backed up the one camera right until it had half the exposure of the one camera left. Metered with Minolta IV-F.

What kind of background do you use? I want to get one but it seems it would be easy to buy something that won't work. Been thinking about getting this one on ebay but I don't know if the lighter area is painted or lit in the image.

It's Chris Dawson

He is mostly a cowhorse guy. This is his first time at the futurity, he had a decent run his horse was really really amped and that hurt his score.

The lights in that arena seemed to color shift worse than any arena I have ever dealt with. I was not happy with the outcome, but just shooting with available light I don't know what else to do.

I really like that shot for the advertisement!

Bob,

It's a small "pop-up" backdrop by Savage. It folds up like a reflector.

I would say that ebay backdrop definitely has a strobe lighting the center.

Thanks, Jake. I didn't think Chris looked familiar. Of course, at the futurity show there's always a lot of unfamiliar faces.

I don't know how Waltenberry gets his images color corrected and printed so quickly at his booth. He does a great job.
