I will be uploading more, but for now, this is my first. I have to cull through a couple thousand Raw shots. I know the props could be shot a little slower, but I was in Jet mode and I was trying out the 2xIII extender on the 70-200 for the first time. I think it makes the shots a little soft when reaching out to max distance. Here is a crop of one shot of four eras of war planes.

It's actually only three eras (lead and slot are both WWII) but that's a very stout Heritage Flight.

Most shows this year only got two aircraft. Three if they were really lucky.

Yeah, they said one prop was from beginning and one was from end of the same era, now I remember...maybe.

I've never shot so many shots. Had I been shooting jpeg, I would have gotten a few better shots. The raw numbers hit buffers too quickly in the 5d3 using 60mb/sec cards.

Great show and I haven't been in a while. I'll need to work on some more, but I am leaving Tuesday morning to cover SEMA in Vegas for the week.

What was your shutter speed? It looks like you didn't adjust the shutter speed to account for the prop planes.

I didn't. I stated in original post I was on jet speed. I've never shot planes before and I did slow down for the prop only planes, but not a whole slow bit....too nervous to get blurred shots. And I got a few.

Just FYI, when shooting something that differs in speed like that you should set the shutter speed to the lowest denominator meaning that you should have the shutter speed for the props.
